Solutions for Trichotillomania

Here at She Never Tells I have come across a number of women with hair loss with a myriad of causes.  One recent young lady was working through trichotillomania, a disorder that involves recurrent, irresistible urges to pull out hair on the body. Trichotillomania is an impulse control disorder that can come and go throughout a persons life.  The most common areas affected are usually the scalp, eyebrows, and eyelids.

For this particular young lady we needed to find a solution for her scalp from her hairline to her crown.  I was able to construct a hair piece that would bump up to her hairline and cover the entire top of her head.  Her hair below the crown and to the nape of her neck was unaffected and her top piece seamlessly blended with the rest of her hair.

I was able to accomplish this by bringing her in for measurements and an initial fitting, and then I carefully selected a texture that blended with her natural curls.
